Volunteers

Come volunteer with us!

You’re a pro who wants to be connected to others in the uniquely special WordPress community but maybe you aren’t quite sure how to get involved? Volunteering at WordCamp Atlanta is the perfect place to connect, serve, and really feel a part of something exciting! Our volunteers love that they can visit with old friends, meet new friends and learn the latest about everything WordPress while at the same time experiencing the rewards of serving others doing the same. Serving at WordCamp Atlanta truly does take the experience to the next level for our volunteers.

If you are ready to dive in and max out your WordCamp Atlanta experience, consider volunteering a few hours of your time to:

  • Greet attendees with a smile and help them get signed in
  • Welcome speakers and session attendees to each room and help with room logistics
  • Share your expertise by answering WordPress questions and being helpful at the Happiness Bar
  • Man the T-Shirt table to hand out our cool shirts to attendees between sessions
  • Put your photography skills on display by taking photos of the event for social media and other publicity

It’s super easy to volunteer:

  1. Fill out the Volunteer registration form: You can tell us what days and times are convenient for you and what types of volunteer role(s) you are interested in.
  2. Confirm your role and assignment time: Our Volunteer Coordinator will email you directly to confirm your placement and provide all the information you need to be a rock star in your role.
  3. Check-in at the volunteer desk at your assigned time: Let us know you are present and ready for your assignment and we’ll get you where you need to be and help get you situated.

It’s time to stop watching all the fun from a distance! Join our volunteer crew and be an integral part of it all. You’ll be so glad you did!

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How long are the shifts? Most shifts are 2-3 hours, depending on the assignment.
  2. Can I attend all the sessions I want to attend? Sure! We are happy to schedule your volunteer assignment around your schedule.
  3. Do I have to know a lot about WordPress to volunteer? No, not at all! The only role that requires deep WordPress knowledge is the Happiness Bar. All other roles are perfect for anyone at all with a friendly and helpful spirit.
  4. This is my first WordCamp. Should I volunteer even if I don’t know what’s going on? We would love to find you a role that fits your schedule and helps you feel right at home with us. No insider knowledge required.
  5. Is my WordCamp ticket free if I volunteer? Nope. Our $50 ticket price is so low that we barely cover our costs, so we ask everyone to purchase a ticket, including volunteers. Our volunteers serve out of the goodness of their hearts.
