WordPress is a large open source project with thousands of contributors helping out in countless ways. But what defines a model contributor?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>This talk is a retrospective of a WordPress journey from Tinkerer to Full-Time Contributor and Core Committer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>What makes a successful contributor? <\/li><li>What should your expectations be? <\/li><li>How do you get started? <\/li><li>When do you ask for help? <\/li><li>When do you offer help? <\/li><li>How should you receive feedback? <\/li><li>What factors make up the right mindset?<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll be informed and inspired to begin your WordPress contributor story \u2014 which you will do right afterwards!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s right. If this is your first time, we\u2019ll introduce you to the different areas in which you can contribute to WordPress, and then walk you through making your first contribution, with bragging rights\ud83d\udcaa<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s free (you don\u2019t need a 2 or 3 day ticket) and lunch is provided.
