Wondering what to do while you’re waiting for WordCamp to roll around again? Get yourself to some of our local WordPress Meetups!

These Meetups feature specific topics geared to the various levels ranging from beginners through developers. Attending Meetups are a good way to learn more about WordPress and how to use it, whatever your level is. If you have some degree of proficiency, WordPress Meetups are a great way to share your WordPress knowledge with others by getting involved and speaking. A good number of our WordCamp speakers are drawn from speakers from our local Meetups.

We are always looking for people to step up and hold their own WordPress Meetups. If you are interested in a particular topic you can plan a Meetup session yourself or volunteer to get on the schedule for one of the existing times and places. If you want to know more, contact one of the current WordPress Meetup leaders.

But even if you are not ready to speak, come and get involved. Sign up at Meetup.com and search for WordPress where you can find and join our various local WordPress Meetup Groups. You will then receive e-mails announcing the groups and their monthly topics. You can come to one or all. We have included a list with links to some of them below.

Metro Atlanta Area WordPress Meetups:

• ATLANTA – Atlanta WordPress Users Group
  This group is the oldest and largest Atlanta WordPress Meetup. Meetings are held at General Assembly Atlanta at Ponce City Market. The presentations are designed for beginners and/or intermediates to learn to use, build, customize, and maintain WordPress websites. We will also cover plugins as well as how to address business uses such as ecommerce, membership sites and supporting multiple languages. Bring your questions about your WordPress project. We include time for refreshments, networking and troubleshooting.

• NORTHWEST ATLANTA / MARIETTA – Marietta WordPress Meetup
  Launched in May 2011, this daytime group meets on the 2nd Tuesday at IgniteHQ to learn from each other, troubleshoot problems, and discuss timely topics — the software, the community, and the business. Don’t know what you don’t know? Struggling to get something to work? Interested in improving your business practices? Join us. We’ll help you stop wasting hours and pulling your hair out in frustration. This WordPress Meetup is open to all who are eager to learn more about WordPress.

• NORTHWEST ATLANTA / MARIETTA – A Brighter Web
  A monthly daytime Meetup with two “editions” – development and varied (design, SEO, security, social media, etc.). Meetings are held on the first and third Thursday of each month at IgniteHQ in Marietta. We’ll spend 20-30 minutes presenting the latest topic and giving you hands-on ideas to incorporate, and the rest of the time will be spent working with each other on the daily topic or any other WordPress or social media issue that you might have.

• NORTH FULTON / ALPHARETTA – North Fulton WordPress Meetup
  This WordPress Meetup was launched in October 2015. We are a group of local WordPress developers, designers, and publishers who get together to share our knowledge and experience, and to meet other WordPress users in the area. Meetings are held monthly in the evening at ATC Innovation Center (behind the fire station) at Webb Bridge Road and Westside Parkway.

• NORTHEAST ATLANTA / GWINNETT – WordPress Gwinnett
  We meet every 3rd Thursday of the month at 7PM at Rock, Paper and Scissors.

• NORTH ATLANTA / WOODSTOCK – Woodstock WordPress Meetup
  Up where the metro meets the mountains, in Cherokee County, GA a hearty band of WordPress users meet regularly to trade wisdom and build skills. We have events for everyone from total noobs to advanced users. The fourth Tuesday of every month, we have Happiness Bar and/or topics for beginners. The first Wednesday of every month, we have a more business-oriented event. We are adding a development track, soon. We are seeing explosive growth and look forward to serving the far North Atlanta area for years to come.

• EAST METRO ATLANTA / CONYERS – Conyers WordPress Meetup
  Founded in 2017, Conyers has quickly sparked into an active WordPress community. Scott Hartsell hosts this Meetup that’s all about WordPress development and usage. If you live close to Conyers or want to meet more WordPress professionals in that area, you are encouraged to attend.

• FAR NORTH / GAINESVILLE – Gainesville – WordPress Meetup
  As the most north WordPress group in the Metro Atlanta area, the Gainesville WordPress Meetup just started in 2018. Hosted by Robin Jo Moulder, they’re still planning their upcoming sessions for this year. The first meeting was standing room only so be sure to join for updates.
